Urban Legends are stories that have been told over and over through out the years. Variations are dependant on where you heard them. Stories below are no exception and may be slightly different from what you've heard. All of the pictures are O.R.B.S. original shots of the actual locations, unless otherwise noted. Thanks and enjoy our urban legends. There are tons of Urban Legends within Ohio, some that involve returning spirits, some that even include half-human creatures seen in varius parts of the state. There are even Urban Legends about haunted possesions, like old dolls and even computers. These days anything could happen. Someone somewhere has spent long hours logging in at their computer, seeking an online mba but receiving ghostly messages. Between possessions, places and occurances, the Urban Legends have no bounds.
DogMan (Cheyenne Shape Shifters)
This Urban Legend has been brought to my attention recently by an ORBS visitor. I think it needs to be mentioned, although beside's being an Ohio sighting, it has been seen in Michigan also. The legend starts in 1860 with the Cheyenne fighting against the US Army. The elite Indian fighters were called dog soldiers and were believed to be shape shifters. The warriors could change into dogs, thus making it hard for the Army to kill them. The legend goes that they were all killed, so we would think, but a few survived and this is what has been seen in thick wooded area's in Ohio and Michigan. Though it's unknown on the intent of this creature, I don't plan on searching the woods looking for one to ask. So good luck.
Gore Orphanage
Location: South of Vermilion, off of Route 60
Legend: Children's Orphanage burned down on purpose with kids inside. Children screams and fire can be heard on site.
What's There: Stone Foundation.
Ohio Frogman or Lizardman
Location: Loveland, Ohio and Surrounding Area's
Legend: Child size Frogman or Lizardman lives in area. In 1972, 2 police officer seen it along with other eye witness accounts and even shot at it.
What's there: Back roads around the little Miami river
The Ghost Train of Republic
Location: Republic, Summit County
Legend: 1887 Chicago Limited Express No. 5 collided with stalled freight train 1 1/2 miles outside of town. 16 people burned to death in crash. Ghostly train light on tracks.
What's there: Train Tracks
Mix 102.7 Radio Station
Location: Sandusky, Ohio
Legend: Ghost Haunt the radio station that use to be an Army barracks
What's there: Barracks currently used as radio station
Ghost of Tindall Bridge
Location: Fremont
Legend: Child born out of wedlock was thrown over bridge and killed. Crying and Walking spirit of mother is there searching.
What's there: Older Bridge
Cry Baby Bridge
Location: Entrance to Gore Orphanage
Legend: Park in middle of bridge. Get out of car, leave keys in ignition with doors locked and vehicle will start itself. Children hand prints will appear on vehicle. Spooky mist in area and strange Lights.
Whats there: Old Steel bridge over river
Cry Baby Lane
Location: West of Fremont, by old Drive-Inn
Legend: Child was killed in house.
What's There: Foudation to old house, in woods.
Hell Town Location: Boston Township northern part of Summit County
Legend: Many stories. Vacant town. Satanic cult, Aliens, Government cover up.
What's There: Vacant church, houses, equipment, cemetery, out buildings.
Screamy Mimi Bridge
Location: Tiffin, near Morrison Lake
Legend: Sit in your vehicle on bridge during Midnight hours. Beep your horn 3 times and a Banshee (screaming female spirit) will appear in vehicle with you.
What's There: Older Bridge
Marions Covered Bridge
Loction: Off Rt.23 towards Marion
Legend: Spirit Haunts Bridge. Place keys on roof of your car. Beep horn 3 times Keys will disappear.
